What is Pluralistic Counselling?

Collaboratively working to facilitate change.

Collaborative Approach – Positive Transformation

In pluralistic counselling, you are seen to be the expert in your own life, acknowledging that your uniqueness calls for diverse approaches at different stages of therapy to bring about positive change. This perspective sees counselling as a joint effort, with both the individual seeking help and the counsellor actively participating and providing support throughout the process.

Through this collaborative approach, we uncover what might be beneficial for your current circumstances, establishing objectives and effective strategies to assist you not just during therapy but also in your ongoing journey.

My Approach to Pluralistic Counselling

A person-centered approach to therapy, focussed on facilitating personal growth and self-awarenes

In a person-centered approach, my focus is on being fully attentive and ensuring you are the focal point of therapy. I dedicate time and space for you to delve into your concerns. Clear Haven Icon HERE & NOW

Focussing on the present moment, emphasising awareness of what is occurring in the immediate environment, often referred to as the ‘here and now’. This approach encourages you to explore your current thoughts, feelings, and experiences as they unfold in the therapy session, placing significant importance on the present context and interactions within the therapeutic space.

Aiding clients in examining their readiness and openness to change. Embracing the acceptance of challenging emotions allows us to seek paths toward a commitment for transformation and progression.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) stands as one of the extensively studied and practiced forms of psychotherapy, commonly employed in addressing conditions like anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and phobias. Collaboratively, we can explore methods to challenge and transform distorted thoughts, potentially leading to a positive impact on mood and one’s perspective on life.

Engaging in creative therapeutic approaches can unlock various avenues for expressing and handling challenging emotions. Utilising art, music, journaling, mindfulness, guided relaxation, or breathing exercises often proves beneficial in this process.
